“It is always inspiring to meet with @narendramodi and there was a lot to discuss,” Gates said in a post on X.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, currently in India, expresses bullish sentiment regarding the nation’s future. Gates applauds India’s strides in economic growth, innovation, and particularly its leadership in vaccine production.

India’s Positive Trajectory

Bill Gates, renowned for his insights, emphasizes the substantial progress in key areas within India. Speaking to ANI, Gates notes the remarkable rate of improvement, describing India’s economic growth and innovation as “very exciting.” He remains optimistic about India’s future, citing the nation’s strengths.

Democracy’s Magic

Gates underscores the effectiveness of democracy when properly functioning. He views it as a system capable of not only benefiting specific groups but also fostering overall prosperity. Gates asserts that a well-functioning democracy contributes to growing the economic pie, enhancing education, and benefiting society at large.

India’s Vaccine Leadership

Acknowledging India’s prowess in vaccine production, Gates labels the country as the global leader in this critical domain. Microsoft, under Gates’ leadership, is actively investing in collaboration with Indian partners to develop numerous new vaccines, further solidifying India’s position in global healthcare.

Friendship and Philanthropy

Sharing insights into his enduring friendship with veteran investor Warren Buffett, Gates reveals their close bond spanning over 30 years. Despite minimal business overlap, their shared worldview and frequent discussions on diverse topics foster their enduring friendship. Gates appreciates Buffett’s generosity, especially when some of it is directed through the Gates Foundation, allowing for more ambitious initiatives.

India on Warren Buffett’s Radar

While Buffett may not have an in-depth understanding of India due to limited visits, Gates notes that in their conversations about global developments, the growth of the Indian economy is consistently acknowledged as a significant positive.

On his relationship with Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates says, “I’ve been friends with Warren for a long time, over 30 years, and we really never had much overlap in our businesses…we had a very similar view of the world, we love talking to each other. I talk to Warren many times a month about all the different things going on, and he did decide at one point, although it was a complete surprise to me, to funnel some of his generosity through the Gates Foundation. So that’s allowed us to be even more ambitious. But our friendship is basically independent of that…Warren hasn’t been to India a lot, so he wouldn’t claim any deep knowledge. But as we talk about good things going on in the world, the growth of the Indian economy is definitely a real positive.”
